Grand Cayman Island Weather


Located in the western Caribbean Sea, the Cayman Islands (comprised of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman) are known for their pristine white beaches and beautiful tropical weather. Among the three islands, Grand Cayman is the largest, a favourite destination for beach vacationers.

There are typically two seasons on the Grand Cayman Island: summer and winter. Summer season (May-November) is hotter and in September & October it can be wetter. The Winter season (December-April) is much dryer and the weather is beautiful. This is the prime season for Cayman Islands.

  • Coolest month is February.
  • Hottest months are July and August.
  • Winter temperatures can be as low as 70F.
  • Summer temperatures can reach as high as 95F.
  • Lowest temperature on record was 55F.
  • Average rainfall is 60 inches.
  • Hurricane season is from the beginning of June to the end of November. However, hurricanes rarely hit this Caribbean region.
  • Sunset is about 6:00-7:00PM.
  • Unlike many regions in North America, the Cayman Islands do not use daylight saving time.
